Dear Veteran

I promise not to say "Thank you for your service". It's a bullshit saying for people who don't know how to feel better about themselves. Instead, I will look you in the eye, give you a nod, and just interact with you like a person. What you went through sucks. It changed you. But I won't make that be the only thing that defines you.
